The good news is that the consultancy McKinsey thinks carbon capture can be viable by 2030. The bad news is that to make it so requires an immediate investment of more than $12 billion. www.guardian.co.uk

Not bloody likely, mate. Haven’t you heard this little thing called a global credit crisis?

Then again, unless the world is prepared to power itself without coal, how can carbon capture technology development be put off for even a few years?
